| Despite the cowgirls 16-21 overall record (4-6 in conference play) and up and down season, they shined at the end. The cowgirls entered divisional ranked 4th in the conference. After Friday’s games, they had to win 2 games in a row on Saturday in order to get to the championship game. The cowgirls persevered and came out 2nd place sending them to the state tournament in Bozeman. The cowgirls played with heart and desire throughout the tournament and at one point they were four points away from a guaranteed 3rd place. Losing that game put them back to the beginning of the bracket. Having to win 3 more games in order to get back to third place, the cowgirls fell one game short. However, going into divisional ranked 4th and coming out of state 4th place is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations to the cowgirl’s success! Kaylee Swope received 1st team all conference and was also selected to the all state team Ashlee Janitell and Dani Finn received 2nd team all conference honors. Haley Roberts received all conference honorable mention honors. |
