The Cowboys were able to field a team for the first time in the past 3 years with eight total runners, seven of them being freshmen or sophomores . They finished 19that the state meet with an average time of 19:03. The Cowboys were led by Freshman Kyle Nielson, who ran a time of 18:03.

The Custer County Cross Country teams showed continuous improvement all season long with their best performances coming in the Divisional and State meets. With increased numbers and continued commitment by the athletes, both the girls and boys teams will continue their improvement in the upcoming years.
